Services >Design

Questek has designed various industrial and consumer products for our customers. In addition we have had to develop unique production and testing equipment in support of these products. Our wide backgrounds allow us to develop unique solutions where none exist today.

Product Design

The development process usually starts with the review of current technology and current products available to the market. Once this is done a product specification is produced.

  • Product Specification
    • Feature specification
    • Electrical specification
    • Mechanical specification
    • Optical specification
  • Initial design and layout
  • Specifying and testing key components
  • Initial electronic prototyping and programming
  • Industrial design (contracted)
  • Electrical and optical specification conformity
  • System integration
  • Prototyping
  • Beta testing

System Design

In many cases the product specification is a subsection of the system design required to meet the customer's’ goals. Questek has designed many systems in the past 15 years. These system have ranged from small data collection and analysing systems to full blown families of products with their associated peripheral hardware and software and production facilities.

  1. Product Families
  2. Cross Platform Products
  3. Manufacturing Systems

Specialized Production Equipment

Some of the products Questek has developed in the past have require new manufacturing techniques. In several projects the key to the product's success was the cost effective manufacturing technique developed.

  • New Manufacturing Techniques
  • Assembly Equipment
  • Rework Equipment

In-line Production Testing Equipment

In past development projects we've been requested several times to produce testing equipment for production purposes. This is mainly due to the unique design of the products which makes them somewhat expensive to test with conventional production testing systems. The following is a list of some of the equipment we have designed and built.

  • Circuit Board Testers
  • OSHA Conformity Testing Equipment (CSA, UL, AGA)
  • Product Calibration Systems
  • Transducer Testing and Verification
